Some Quick Ways to Clean Your Glass Shower Doors

There is nothing like a set of glass shower doors to beautify and enhance your bathroom, but you have to clean them regularly. Hard water and soap scum can quickly build up on the glass. Ordinary glass cleaners will not remove this grime. You have to have the right equipment and cleaning products to remove them.

Hard water contains minerals that are deposited on your glass shower doors. These deposits are known as scale. Scale appears as a chalky, off-white residue that clouds the glass. To remove it, use a paste made of baking soda and white vinegar. Apply the paste with copper scouring pad and scrub the doors using a circular motion. Rinse the glass with white vinegar after you are done scrubbing. Be sure there is adequate ventilation in the bathroom as you are cleaning.

Some soap scum may remain after you have removed the scale. It will feel and appear waxy.
Use a spray bottle to apply some white vinegar to the glass doors. Let the vinegar sit for approximately five minutes and then apply some more. Starting at the top of the doors and working down, use a razor blade or a knife to gently scrape the soap scum from the glass. Keep the glass wet with vinegar as you work down the glass. Rinse the doors with water after you have finished.

Daily maintenance is a must if you want to avoid the hassle and headache of cleaning heavily built-up grime. Use a squeegee to clean your glass shower doors after each shower. Keep the squeegee hanging in a convenient place in the shower, and use it after you turn off the water. Just a few wipes will go far in reducing the amount of soap scum and hard water build-up.
